Fans demand refund from hall after watching 'Jawan'
Imagine going to the cinema to watch Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster "Jawan," only to request a refund halfway through the film. Well, this incident occurred in a movie theater in the UK.
A viral video, recorded by Sahar Rashid, a makeup artist, depicts how she and others in the cinema hall were disappointed after watching "Jawan" and eventually sought a refund. By accident, the movie's second part was shown at London's Vue Theatre.
Sahar shared the video on Instagram on Saturday, two days after "Jawan" was launched in theaters. The video begins with Sahar proudly displaying her tickets, and the text states that she was very excited to see "Jawan's" first-day, first-show. A montage follows, showing Sahar and her companion in the theater and a few glimpses of the film on the screen. The text then continues, "The cinema trolled us."
"Vue Cinema played the second part first," Sahar adds in the video.
"They finished the movie in one hour and ten minutes, and then started the interval. We thought the villain died, so how can there be an interlude now? Then we discovered that they never played the first section," Sahar added.
Following the screening, the video shows a large group of people standing near the ticket window, and Sahar explains that they are all there for a refund.
Sahar received a lot of support from other moviegoers soon after the video was posted, and it received over a million views.
"This is the saddest thing on the internet today," one person wrote. "Sue them for ruining one of the finest films made in India; that refund ain't worth the experience y'all missed," said a netizen.
Many people pointed out that, despite the refund, her movie experience was irrevocably marred. "Even if you got a refund, they still ruined SRK's movie for you," added another user.
Helmed by Atlee, "Jawan" stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt appear in cameo roles in the film. The film earned mostly positive reviews and had the greatest opening weekend in Hindi film history.
