According to media outlets, Gigi was arrested by Customs & Border Control officers after landing at Owen Roberts International Airport on July 10.

 

Famed model and television personality, Gigi Hadid recently landed herself in legal trouble during her vacation in the Cayman Islands. 

According to media outlets, Gigi was arrested by Customs & Border Control officers after landing at Owen Roberts International Airport on July 10.

As per the sources, Gigi Hadid was arrested for the alleged possession of marijuana, along with her friend and fellow model Leah Nicole McCarthy. The airport customs agents had found a small quantity of marijuana on the two celebrities, and took them to the Prisoner Detention Center, where they were eventually released on bail.

A statement from Gigi's media representative read, "Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC  (New York City) with a Medical license. It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear, and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island."

Both Gigi and McCarthy were fined USD 1,000 each for the transgression. However no conviction was recorded by the Cayman Islands' court.
