‘Hawa’ breaks revenue record in Jessore's Monihar hall
Mejbaur Rahman Sumon's directorial debut "Hawa" is ceaselessly breaking records all over the country. In its second week, the movie is being screened in 41 cinema halls across the country, and its success has surpassed the boundaries of Dhaka and penetrated into the heart of Jessore.
"Hawa" has earned the highest grossing record at Monihar cinema hall in Jessore. The movie earned more than BDT 3 lakh in revenue from the cinema hall yesterday. In the last 5 years, no other movie has been able to earn such revenue in a single day at the Monihar theatre.
Monihar cinema hall manager, Ziaul Islam Mithu, confirmed the news to The Daily Star. "We had a record-breaking revenue yesterday. We are really happy with the houseful screening," said Mithu.
Jazz Multimedia in its press release has cited that "Hawa" is the highest-selling movie after "Boss-2" was released on Eid in 2017. In the last 5 years, no other movie could earn such revenues in one day.
Mejbaur Rahman Sumon's directorial film was released on July 29 in a total of 24 halls. The movie stars Chanchal Chowdhury, Sariful Razz, Shohel Mondol, Nasir Uddin Khan, and Sumon Anowar, among others.
