Henry Cavill to star in Amazon’s ‘Warhammer 40K’ series
After the news broke that Henry Cavill would not be starring in a "Superman" movie, the actor is already preparing for his next project. Currently, he is supposed to be starring in an adaptation of the popular miniature wargame, "Warhammer 40K" for Amazon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Cavill is set to feature in and executive produce the new Amazon series, "Warhammer 40K". THR has reported that Amazon is currently in the 'final negotiations' stage with the game's owner—Games Workshop—to license a show. There are presently no writers or showrunners linked to the project, but Vertigo Entertainment and Cavill are attached to the project as executive producers.
Warhammer is similar to Dungeons & Dragons, in that dice are used. However, it also includes intricate miniatures that players may place and move around the battlefield. Games Workshop originally produced miniatures for Dungeons & Dragons in the 1980's and released Warhammer in 1987. Since then, it has gone on to become the world's most popular miniature wargame and generated numerous copycats.
