Hindustan Times calls 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' a 'cringefest'
Despite negative and mixed reviews by the critics, combined with a poor opening box-office weekend, Salman Khan's "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" has fared quite well thus far. After a poor opening of Rs 15 crore on Friday, the film went on to earn Rs 25 crore during the Eid holiday on Saturday and registered similar numbers on Sunday. The total collection as of now stands around Rs 66.5 crore.
"Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" has been directed by Farhad Samji. The film features a star-studded cast of Salman Khan, Venkatesh Daggubati, Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Jagapathi Babu, Bhumika Chawla, Vijender Singh, Abhimanyu Singh, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Jassie Gill and Vinali Bhatnagar. It has been produced by Salman Khan Films (SKF).
According to a report by Boxofficeindia.com, collections from states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar showed significant improvement on Sunday. The portal also stated that the film was performing well overseas, with collections heading towards the USD 4.5 million mark.
In its review, The Hindustan Times called the film a "cringefest". An excerpt from the article read: "'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' is a no-brains family entertainer led by Salman, suitable for nothing other than a cringe-binge hatewatch. If you've missed seeing Bhai on Eid in his truest avatar pulling off some raw, hardcore action and signature hook steps with unbearable melodrama, then 'Kisi Ka Bhai...' is for you."
