I am coming to Bangladesh: Ankush Hazra

Tollywood actors Ankush Hazra and Priyanka Sarkar are all set for the simultaneous release of their upcoming film, "Kurban", in Bangladesh and India on November 24. In an exclusive interview with Bangladeshi media, Ankush expressed his eagerness to visit Bangladesh once again.

"Since 2015, I haven't had the opportunity to visit Bangladesh. I'm delighted that, after all these years, our film 'Kurban' is making its way to cinemas in Bangladesh. We've witnessed some outstanding Bangladeshi films like 'Hawa' and 'Poran' that were released in Kolkata. Now, our film is set to grace the screens of Bangladeshi theatres, and we're planning promotional activities. That's why I'll be coming." Ankush Hazra reveals.

Directed by Saibal Mukherjee, "Kurban" delves into profound themes related to humanity and mankind. In the film, Ankush takes on the role of Hasan, a character that demands deep emotional commitment. Priyanka portrays Hasan's wife, Hijol. The movie was shot in remote regions of West Bengal, boasting a stellar ensemble cast.

"Kurban" centres around the character of Hasan, portrayed by Ankush. Director Saibal Mukherjee shared that Ankush was his immediate choice for the role when penning the screenplay, as he embodied specific attributes like a beard and untamed hair, crucial for the character's portrayal.

While Ankush is well-known for his comedic roles, he revealed that portraying a more serious character required a profound exploration of Hasan's psyche. He described it as one of the most challenging roles of his career, acknowledging that the character's intensity left an indelible mark.

The film also stars Shantilal Mukherjee, Kanchan Mallick, Buddhadev Bhattacharya, and Subhadra Mukherjee.
