In 2022, Shahnaz Sumi graced the big screen in the movie "Damal," directed by Raihan Rafi. Her portrayal of Ima received applause from the audience as well. "As there are many characters in 'Damal,' I put in extra effort to ensure I portray my character well. The love and positive feedback from everyone after the film's release made me very happy," Sumi shared.
Quality over quantity is her mantra, as she carefully selects projects to fully invest herself in. "Even if I do fewer movies, I like to approach them with care and dedication. I focus on improving my acting skills," she stated with determination.
Her appearance in the popular series "Buker Moddhe Agun" marked her debut on the OTT platforms. Reflecting on the experience, Sumi admitted to initial nervousness, considering it was her first foray into web content. "I portrayed a 90s heroine, and I wanted to ensure that the audience resonated with the character," she explained.
The positive response to "Buker Moddhe Agun" was a testament to her commitment. "I received wonderful feedback. Despite my initial apprehensions, the encouraging words from my colleagues helped me perform confidently," Sumi shared.
In the dynamic entertainment industry, Sumi remains pragmatic about opportunities, believing that quality work requires patience. "Good opportunities may not come frequently; waiting is part of the journey. And I am willing to wait for the right roles," she affirmed.
