'I dedicate this award to my supportive wife'
This is officially the best year for Nasir Uddin Khan, after winning hearts and an award for his stellar performance in Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury's riveting film "Boli" (The Wrestler) in the New Currents category at the 28th Busan International Film Festival.
Nasir Uddin Khan bagged the Best Actor in Negative Role Award for his performance as Allen Swapan in Shihab Shaheen's web-series "Syndicate" at the Blender's Choice-The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2022.
He started off his acceptance speech by greeting fans in Chatgaiya dialect.
"I am really happy that I am able to receive the award amidst the presence of such wonderful celebrities, who were a huge part of my childhood. Growing up I was really happy that I was able to witness their performance on-screen," said the actor.
Nasir Uddin Khan also thanked his entire "Syndicate" team.
"I would like to thank my entire 'Syndicate' team. Starting from my director to the production boy, I don't think we would have been able to pull it off without the support of their hard work and dedication," added the artiste.
He dedicated the special award to his wife, who was his steadfast supporter even when everyone was against him pursuing a career in acting.
"I want to dedicate this award to a special someone, who had to face a lot of scrutiny from my family members and relatives, for encouraging me to work in showbiz. I don't think I would have been here if it wasn't for her support," concluded the actor.
At the end, the host requested the actor to sing a few verses of his super hit viral song "Boyam Pakhi" from the Chorki series "Myself Allen Swapan".
The entire audience clapped and cheered for the actor as he sung the song with sheer enthusiasm and upbeat voice.
Also nominated in the category were Shohel Mondol for his performance in "Taan", Imtiaz Barshon for "Kaiser", Lutfur Rahman George "Kalo Projapoti" and Afzal Hossain for his role in "Refugee".
