I never told anyone that ‘Joy Bangla’ is my last directorial: Kazi Hayat
Amidst the hustle and bustle of city life, a ray of festivity and fervor surrounds the nooks and crannies of FDC.
Upon looking closely, the real reason behind the festivity is unfolded as FDC finally brims up with the light, camera, and action of a movie.
On the 7th floor of the FDC, director Kazi Hayat can be seen shooting the 2020-2021 government-granted film "Joy Bangla."
In a candid conversation with The Daily Star, the noted director opens up about his film and clears the air surrounding the movie.
Made under the banner of Tungipara movie banner, "Joy Bangla" will be the director's 51st production starring Bappy Chowdhury and Zahara Mitu in pivotal roles.
When asked about the rumour surrounding his movie "Joy Bangla" being his last directorial. The National award-winning director assured his fans that the rumours are indeed false.
"I have never publicly announced anywhere that "Joy Bangla" is my last venture. I want to direct movies till my last breathe as this is my passion. People are spreading rumours about me due to my age but what they don't know is that making "film" is what truly defines me. Cinema is my source of happiness and without it I am nothing," stated the director.
The "Father" movie director also gave a brief synopsis about the movie.
Kazi Hayat said, "The movie "Joy Bangla" showcases the time period from 1968 December till 16th December 1971. The film will beautifully depict the true story of the liberation war of Bangladesh."
"Raju Chowdhury and Rakibul Islam Rakib are working as my assistant director in this movie. 3 Rabindra Sangeet has been used in this film. I am really hoping that I am able to create something wonderful for the audiences," added the director.
After finishing up the conversation, the director became busy shooting another scene for the movie. The scene included Bappy Chowdhury, Nader Chowdhury, and others for an integral scene. Finally, after two takes, they were able to shot it perfectly.
Bappy Chowdhury also spoke great words about the noted director to The Daily Star.
"I am truly honoured on working with such a talented and wonderful director. I am truly discovering myself in a new way through this character. I am really working hard to portray my role perfectly so that the audience can appreciate it," added the actor.
