‘Jawan’ topples ‘Adipurush’ on day 3
Shah Rukh Khan's leading action film "Jawan" was on the same wavelength as "Adipurush" up until its day-two worldwide collections. It, however, toppled the gross collection of "Adipurush" on day three.
Both films amassed Rs 240 crore of revenue after the first two days.
However, "Jawan", directed by Atlee Kumar, accumulated Rs 350 crore gross at the worldwide box office within three days of its release, whereas "Adipurush" collected Rs 340 crore.
"Adipurush" received all-around condemnation because of its dialogues and handling of the mythological 'Ramayana'. The criticism caused the film's revenue to gradually fall.
Manobala Vijayabalan, a film trade analyst, took to X and differentiated the day two collection posters of both films and said, "Prabhas vs Shah Rukh Khan. 'Adipurush' vs 'Jawan'".
He shared the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi numbers and confirmed that "Jawan" observed growth on the third day at the Indian box office.
"Jawan" highlights the Hindi film debut of Nayanthara, who plays the role of a police officer. Aside from Shah Rukh Khan, the film stars Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover and Ridhi Dogra, amongst others.
In India, the film collected a total of Rs 202 crore in three days.
