Jaya Ahsan will be chief guest at World Film Festival Kolkata

Equally popular in Bangladesh and Kolkata, Jaya Ahsan will be present as the chief guest at the World Film Festival Kolkata, organised by Federation of Film Societies of India (ER) in collaboration with the IFFS International federation of film societies (Asia-Pacific).

The festival will open on September 20 at Nandan cultural center, Kolkata and continue till September 25. The event will be inaugurated by Kiran V Shantharam, All India president and director of Federation of Film Societies of India.

To Pay Tribute to 50 Years of the Liberation War of Bangladesh the World Film Festival Kolkata will present Bangladesh as the Country Focus showcasing the films titled "Payer Tolay Mati Nai" directed by Mohammad Rabby Mridha, "Rickshaw Girl" directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, "Laal Moroger Jhuti" directed by Nurul Alam Atique, "Maya - The Lost Mother" directed by Masud Pathik, "Ripples directed by Senjutee Suborna Tushee  for the first time in Kolkata.

 

Apart from Jaya, actress Gargee Roy Chowdhury, Jyotika Jyoti, director Abu Sayeed, Atanu Ghosh will also be present at the inauguration ceremony.
