Kate Winslet to venture into directing with ‘Goodbye June’

Kate Winslet is currently preparing for her feature directorial debut, 'Goodbye June,' which is scheduled to be filmed in the UK for Netflix in collaboration with Working Title Films, according to the UK portal Screen International.
The screenplay for "Goodbye June" was written by Winslet's son, Joe Anders and it will feature Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, Winslet herself, and Helen Mirren in key roles.
Alongside producing the film with Kate Solomon, Winslet is working with Working Title Films on the project.
The movie explores a contemporary fictional narrative about a group of estranged siblings who are forced to reunite in the face of unexpected and challenging events.
Today, Winslet is scheduled to attend the Bafta Film Awards, where she is nominated alongside Solomon in the Outstanding British Film category as producers of "Lee". In addition to her producing role, Winslet also stars in the film as photojournalist Lee Miller.
Anders, her son from her marriage to Sam Mendes, has a growing acting career, having led the 2023 film "Bonus Track" directed by Julia Jackman for Sky and appeared in supporting roles in "Lee" and Mendes' "1917".
Another upcoming Netflix UK project includes Tom Harper's "Peaky Blinders" movie, which completed production in December.
