Khairul Basar shares his plans for Eid
Actor Khairul Basar has already made his place in the hearts of the audience with a variety of excellent performances. Be it in "Mohanagar", "Punorjonmo" or "Bagher Bachcha", the young actor has firmly established himself in films, tele-fictions, web-series and web-films.
He is currently busy shooting "Murder 90", which is being directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud.
For this Eid, the charming boy from "Networker Baire" is set to entertain fans with a multitude of projects including, "Shohore Onek Rod", "Babui Pakhir Basha", "Doi Fuchka", and "Ghotok Corporation", amongst many others.
In a casual chat with The Daily Star, the actor opened up about his plans for the coming Eid-ul-Fitr and his past Eid experiences.
What are your plans for this Eid?
When it comes to my Eid experiences, my best ones were all in my home town in Kishoreganj. It's been almost two years since I visited them and it has been a long time since I met everyone there. Thus, this time, I plan to reunite with my family and friends for Eid.
Tell us a bit about your childhood memories of Eid?
I belong to a joint family and our houses back in Kishoreganj were quite close to each other. Looking back, my childhood Eids in Kishoreganj felt like a festival, as me and my cousins were busy visiting every one of our relatives' houses. Though I never expected salami from my elders on Eid day, I cannot put into words the excitement and joy I felt whenever I did receive salami from them.
Back then, I would spend the entirety of my salami on renting a bicycle from the bazar, which I would ride for the rest of the day. I would go from one area to the other filled with boundless joy.
I remember on Eid mornings, just after returning from Eid prayers, I would see various treats such as shemai, payesh, and different types of pitha on dining table—especially the fuchka pitha, which was my favourite—I really miss those days.
After being a part of widely appreciated projects like "Mohanagar", "Teerondaj" and "Nikhoj", what will be your next web-series?
I have gotten many OTT series offers while I was busy shooting "Kajol Rekha". I had to reject many offers as well, because I was busy with the shoot and could not match my schedule with those projects. Moreover, since last Eid, I have become stricter in choosing my roles in tele-fictions, web-series and films.
As an actor, I am now looking to take on challenging narratives and characters. When I am presented such a script, I will bounce right back into OTT.
Is there anything you want to say to the audience?
It's their support that has brought me so far, their love strengthens my resolve to give my best every day, in every role I play. For that, I am eternally grateful to them all. Finally, I hope that everyone spends an amazing Eid with their friends and families.
