‘Khufiya’ teaser out; no Bangladeshi artiste seen in first look
Vishal Bhardwaj's film "Khufiya" created buzz all over social media when two Bangladeshi actresses Bidya Sinha Mim and Mehazabien Chowdhury, rejected the film over the misrepresentation of Bangladesh's political history.
Rumours were also rife that the casting director of Bhardwaj's team tried to contact "Rehana Maryam Noor" actress Azmeri Haque Badhon. However, the actress neither confirmed nor denied anything regarding the matter.
Netflix released the teaser of the movie recently, which showcases a voiceover by Tabu as she introduces a mysterious man as a 'traitor to the whole nation'.
The teaser builds an air of suspense as we get to see a man in the shadow, an intelligence officer stealing Indian confidential information, and making copies of it.
As shown in the teaser, "Khufiya" stars Ali Fazal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi. However, there was no mention of any Bangladeshi artistes.
Based on Amar Bhushan's book "Escape To Nowhere," the film is loosely inspired by a real life incident that took place in 2004.
According to the book, the head of the Indian Security Division Agency Jeevnathan was involved in leaking confidential information.
A whistleblower suspects his senior of being involved with Jeevnathan, and raises his suspicion to the concerned authorities, which reveals Jeevnathan's scary truth.
