‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is Aamir Khan's poorest opening in 13 years

Aamir Khan's "Laal Singh Chaddha" had a poor opening day at the box office, despite being a remake of epic Hollywood movie "Forrest Gump", on  Thursday. This was amidst calls for boycott by fans who were unhappy that an age old classic was getting a Bollywood remake for no reason.

According to reports, "Laal Singh Chaddha" made Rs 10.75 crore on its opening day, a number that has been dubbed 'shocking' in all the wrong ways. Bollywood Hungama noted that this was the lowest opening for an Aamir Khan film in the past 13 years.

By comparison, Aamir Khan's "Thugs of Hindostan", which is considered to be one of the biggest flops in Indian Box Office history, earned Rs 52 crore on its opening day.
