Mahfuz Ahmed's 2.5 year journey to portray Mona in 'Prohelika'
After an eight-year hiatus from the big screen, renowned actor Mahfuz Ahmed is set to make a grand comeback with his latest film, "Prohelika". The movie has already received censor clearance, generating excitement among fans.
Directed by Chayanika Chowdhury, "Prohelika" features Mahfuz Ahmed in the pivotal role of 'Mona', a character he has dedicated nearly two and a half years towards perfecting. Paired opposite him is the talented Shobnom Bubly, adding further anticipation for the film.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Star, Mahfuz Ahmed shared his enthusiasm about returning to the silver screen after such a long break.
"This character is very important to me. Every actor wants to play such brilliant characters in their career," he said.
While Mahfuz Ahmed was tight-lipped about revealing the intricate details of the film's storyline, he did provide a tantalising glimpse into its central theme.
He stated, "Throughout our lives, we search for that special someone who captures our heart. Whether we ultimately find them or not, remains a profound question. In 'Prohelika,' we have endeavoured to explore the answer to this enigma."
The film also stars Nasir Uddin Khan, Rashed Mamun Apu, A K Azad Shetu, Rahmat Ali, and Sabiha Zaman, among others.
