‘Mayar Jonjal’ joins Tarantino, Scorsese on ‘Mubi’
One of the world's best streaming platforms for arthouse movies, 'mubi.com' has a wide-array of films from the likes of Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Roman Polanski, David Fincher, Francois Truffaut and many more.
Now, the production of these iconic directors will be joined by the Bangladesh-India joint production, "Mayar Jonjal". Mubi has added the film to their catalogue, writing about the numerous achievements made by the film at various festivals in the description.
Produced by Josim Ahmed from Bangladesh and directed by Indian filmmaker Indranil Roychowdhury, the film marks the comeback of renowned actor, Aupee Karim on the silver screen after 15 years.
The film is based on two short stories by Manik Bandopadhyay, "Bishakto Prem" and "Shubala".
The project also features celebrated Indian actor Ritwick Chakraborty, Shohel Mondal, Chandreyee Ghosh, and Bratya Basu.
"Mayar Jonjal" first premiered at the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival. It was officially selected for screening at the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF).
