Milon to share screen with 'Braveheart' famed Mel Gibson
Actor Anisur Rahman Milon has accomplished a remarkable milestone by becoming the first actor from Bangladesh to attain membership in the prestigious Hollywood artists' organisation, Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
Milon will also be featured in the films "Boneyard," where he will share the screen with "Braveheart" famed actor Mel Gibson, and "Flash It," alongside a Colombian actress.
The announcement of Milon's membership in SAG came to light as the actor revealed that he received it in May 2022. Bangladeshi-born American director Asif Akbar, who directed the film "MR 9: Do or Die", helped him become a member of this organisation.
Anisur Rahman Milon was in the United States for the last one and a half years due to his wife's cancer and demise.
Reflecting on his path to SAG membership, Milon emphasised that individuals holding American citizenship or possessing a valid work permit to contribute to the industry in the United States are eligible for membership. To determine his eligibility, SAG meticulously examined his acting credentials, delving into his IMDB profile, online presence, and overall recognition as an actor.
Elaborating on the advantages of SAG membership, Milon cited the organization's commitment to safeguarding the interests of its members. He elaborates, "SAG acts as a support system. If, during a shoot, an unfortunate incident occurs, SAG informs the production company. They extend coverage for medical claims in cases of illness or injury. Furthermore, for each year of acting, a portion of earnings is contributed to SAG, ultimately culminating in pension payouts post-retirement after the age of 65. SAG ensures comprehensive benefits and safeguards the well-being of its members."
