Mithila signs new film in Tollywood
Actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila recently signed on for a new film in Kolkata. The first look of the highly anticipated movie, titled 'O Obhagi,' was unveiled, generating great excitement among fans and critics alike.
Directed by Anirban Chakraborty, 'O Obhagi' is a cinematic adaptation of the timeless story 'Obhagir Swargo' written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. While staying true to the essence of the original story, Anirban has made certain modifications to align with the contemporary timeline. The film features a stellar cast, including Sion Ghosh, Subrata Dutta, and Devyani Chatterjee among others.
Anirban Chakraborty expressed his admiration for Sharatchandra's captivating writing, stating, "His storytelling always struck me as inherently cinematic. In 'O Obhagi,' I have placed the narrative against the backdrop of the sixties and seventies, while also introducing some new characters."
An intriguing glimpse of Mithila's character has already been unveiled, revealing her in a somber mood, draped in a plain saree. When asked about her involvement in the film, Mithila said in the Kolkata media, "I was captivated by the story, and the adaptation is brilliant. That's why I gladly accepted the role."
Produced by Swabhumi Entertainment, the shooting for 'O Obhagi' is set to commence soon, with talented singers such as Lognajita from Kolkata, Rupankar Bagchi, Chandrani Banerjee, and Animesh Roy from Bangladesh lending their voices to the film.
