Mithila wins Maitri Award at Telangana Bengali Film Festival
Rafiath Rashid Mithila, who is quite popular in Bangladesh and Kolkata, has added yet another feather to her cap, by winning two awards at the prestigious event. She has received Maitreyee Award for her contribution to acting in both Bengals and Best Supporting Actress for "
Mayaa" at the Telangana Bengali Film Festival.
The beautiful actress was handed the award on Sunday—the second and final day of the festival. The prestigious award ceremony took place at the Palace Preview Lab in Hyderabad.
Mithila's first Tollywood film, "Maya", was screened at the Telangana Bengali Film Festival, which commenced on Saturday. Directed by Raajhorshee De, the movie is an adaptation of William Shakespeare's "Macbeth".
The film features Mithila taking on the role of the alter ego of Lady Macbeth. The role, Maya, is said to be a combination of the play's Wayward sisters and Lady Macbeth.
Apart from Mithila, Tollywood's Gaurab Chakraborty, Tanushree Chakraborty, Sudipta Bandyopadhyay, Rahul, Kamleshwar, and others are also featured in "Maya". Mithila's
