Mou to essay double role for BTV’s diamond jubilee celebration
Sadia Islam Mou will be seen in a special drama celebrating the diamond jubilee (60th anniversary) of Bangladesh Television (BTV). The actress will be seen playing a dual role in the drama titled "Shonar Shinduk.". The drama will air on December 25 at 9:05 PM.
Written by Ali Imran and filmed by Anwar Hossain Bulbul, the drama is produced by Mahbuba Ferdous.
Along with Sadia Islam Mou, the cast includes Golam Kibria Tanvir, Azam Khan, Faruq Ahmed, Masud Rana Mithu, among others. Mou will be essaying the role of Upoma, wife of the only grandson of Zamindar Raja Chowdhury's youngest son, Sohel Chowdhury (Golam Kibria Tanvir).
The story features the zamindar house in Alankarpur which has lost its former glory, and no members of the zamindar family reside there anymore. The estate is guarded around the clock by Hashem Sardar, a loyal stick-bearer.
A trust, created by Zamindar Raja Chowdhury's will, manages the village school, mosque, and madrasa. As per the trust's conditions, only the virtuous and educated descendants of the family are entitled to half of the zamindari's wealth.
Sohel Chowdhury, the only grandson of Raja Chowdhury's youngest son, returns home after completing his studies abroad. He expresses a desire to live in the zamindar house. If he can prove his honesty and virtue, the will promises him access to the trust's funds and a golden chest.
Upon arriving at the estate with his newlywed wife, Upoma, the villagers and the head of the trustee board greet them warmly.
Later that night, Upoma grows restless, eager to unlock the golden chest. When it is finally opened, anything placed inside—be it money or gold—doubles in value. Driven by curiosity, Upoma steps into the chest, hoping to double her beauty.
To Sohel's astonishment, the chest reveals two identical versions of Upoma when it opens. Faced with this strange situation, Sohel must decide what to do as the drama's mystery deepens.
