Popular actress Bidya Sinha Mim is on a career-high as two of her films, "Poran" and "Damal", are running simultaneously in theatres.

In a candid conversation with The Daily Star, Mim shared her thoughts about this year's FIFA World Cup, career, and more.

Just after a few days, the FIFA World Cup will start. Which team do you support?

I support Brazil with all my heart. My mother is also a Brazil supporter. I love this team because of my mother, and I will keep supporting them forever.

Does your husband, Sony Poddar, support the same team?

Yes. He does. I hope Brazil can take the cup this year. Since I learned to understand Football, I never witnessed Brazil take the trophy of the FIFA World Cup. It makes me sad sometimes. I just hope that this year they can win the championship.

Is your whole family supporter of Brazil?

No, not at all. My father and younger sister are supporters of Argentina. My mother and I are supporter of Brazil. That's why It gets really fun and exciting when World Cup starts. To be honest, I love how Brazil plays football. They have a great rhythm in their game, which I don't find in any other teams.

The year is ending. How was 2022?

It was really good. This year will be memorable for my career as well. Two of my films, "Poran" and "Damal", were blockbusters this year. "Poran" is still running in theatres at home and abroad. I hope "Damal" will do well in the month of victory, December. Another good thing that happened this year is, I found my life partner.

What's your career plan now?

I want to be associated with good projects. I have been getting a lot of offers, but I want to work selectively as the audience's expectation has increased now. I want to live up to their expectations and take responsibility.

You visited Tangail yesterday.

I went to Tangail to attend a Lux programme. There were thousands of people cheering for me. They were shouting the name of my films. I was delighted to see their hospitality. They have a tradition of making good sweets, so I also got sweets as a gift. The love they showered upon me, I will remember for a long time.

When will you start shooting your new films?

Not this year. I am planning to start new films next year, with a fresh mind. I am happy with all the love and prayers from my family.
