Nawazuddin Siddiqui's powerful turn as transgender in 'Haddi' trailer
Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui took to social media on Wednesday to unveil the long-awaited trailer of his upcoming ZEE5 original film, "Haddi". The crime drama, featuring the versatile Anurag Kashyap, delves into the dark underbelly of criminal activities in the modern urban landscapes of Delhi NCR, Gurgaon, and Noida.
Notably, the trailer introduces Nawazuddin in a groundbreaking role, portraying a transgender on-screen for the very first time.
The compelling trailer of the film begins with an introduction to Nawazuddin as a transgender named Haddi. In a powerful monologue, he asserts, "People fear transgenders, and do you know why?"
"Our blessings hold immense power, and our curses are ominous. But our revenge is even more menacing."
The teaser provides a glimpse into Haddi's journey, portraying his evolution from a novice transgender – surviving through petty crimes – to relocating from Allahabad to Delhi to join a transgender community.
The film features an ensemble cast, including Ila Arun, Anurag Kashyap, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Saurabh Sachdeva, Shridhar Dubey, Rajesh Kumar, Vipin Sharma, and Saharsh Shukla, among others.
Directed and co-written by Akshat Ajay Sharma and Adamya Bhalla, respectively, "Haddi" is a gripping crime vengeance drama produced by Zee Studios and Anandita Studios.
The film is set to premiere on September 7.
