Nawshaba becomes DESCF Wildlife Ambassador

Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, a well-known figure in the country's entertainment scene, has embraced a new responsibility. She has been appointed as an ambassador for an animal conservation organisation that focuses on animal welfare, wildlife protection, and raising environmental awareness. Nawshaba will now dedicate her efforts to championing the rights of wild animals.
The Facebook page of the Deep Ecology and Snake Conservation Foundation (DESCF) shared the announcement on Monday, March 17.
They wrote, "Actress and social activist Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed has joined our organisation as an 'Ambassador for Wildlife'. Her sensitivity towards animal welfare, wildlife conservation, and environmental awareness is well known."
"On this journey, we will collaborate with her to promote harmony between nature and humans. Through her efforts, we aim to spread a positive attitude towards wildlife to the broader public," they added.
In this regard, Nawshaba told the media, "I have always had compassion for all living beings. My involvement with DESCF stems from its focus on wild animals. Since childhood, I have had a deep respect for life. It disturbs me to see so many wild elephants dying, elephants being abused, and the unnecessary killing of snakes. I've spoken out on these issues on various occasions."
"I aim to raise awareness about the importance of saving animal lives. The organisation had been following my work for some time, and when they reached out to collaborate, I gladly accepted. I look forward to making a greater impact in the future," she added.
Beyond her acting career, Nawshaba is also actively engaged in various national causes. Known for her compassion toward animals, the actress previously spoke out about the tragic incident of poisoned dogs in Mohammadpur, the capital.
She is a member of both the Bangladesh Shilpi Kollan Trust and the Film Certification Board. On the acting front, her latest appearance was in the episode "Antara" from Nuhash Humayun's web-series "Dui Shaw".
