Netflix releases live action trailer for ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’
Netflix has unveiled the first teaser for its upcoming live-action adaptation of the beloved animated series, "Avatar: The Last Airbender". The teaser not only confirms that the series is set to premiere in 2024, but also provides a glimpse of the main cast in character.
The short teaser showcases Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. Alongside their character reveals, the teaser incorporates iconic imagery from the original series. The emblems representing the Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads are depicted in various landscapes, enveloped by their respective elemental powers. The teaser concludes with the series title and the highly anticipated 2024 release date, presented on a scorched piece of fabric—symbolic of the imminent threat posed by the Fire Nation.
"Avatar: The Last Airbender" is set in a world divided in nations aligned with the elements of water, earth, fire, and air. Skilled individuals known as "Benders" can manipulate their respective elements. However, the Avatar, a young boy named Aang, possesses the rare ability to control all four elements. Aang, accompanied by his friends, embarks on a mission to bring harmony to the world and defeat the oppressive Fire Lord, Ozai and the Fire Nation.
In addition to the main cast, notable supporting actors include Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as General Iroh.
