Netflix's 'Squid Game: The Challenge' unveils trailer and record-breaking prize money
The highly anticipated trailer for Netflix's "Squid Game: The Challenge" has been released, with the reality series set to premiere on November 22. This new series boasts a staggering prize fund of $4.56 million, making it the highest-ever prize money offered in a competition format.
"Squid Game: The Challenge" takes inspiration from the immensely popular Korean show "Squid Game," which holds the distinction of being Netflix's most-watched series of all time. The teaser showcases the 456 contestants engaging in a variety of games, featuring challenges from the original show as well as intriguing new additions.
Contestants will face elimination as the competition progresses, adding an element of suspense and tension to the series. The production of this high-stakes reality show was overseen by UK production companies Studio Lambert and The Garden.
However, the road to creating "Squid Game: The Challenge" wasn't without its obstacles.
Reports surfaced during filming of issues caused by a cold snap in Britain, which affected the shoot at Cardington Studios, a former Royal Air Force base in Bedford.
Additionally, during the filming of the game "Red Light, Green Light," in which players must evade a menacing robotic doll, three of the 456 participants required medical attention. Netflix assured that all necessary safety measures were in place, and Britain's Health and Safety Executive determined that no further action was needed.
