Netizens compare Alia-Ranveer’s 'Dhindhora Baje' to 'Dola Re Dola'
Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh introduced their latest dance number "Dhindora Baje Re" today from the upcoming film "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani". Choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant, the duo donned vibrant red traditional attire while showcasing their mesmerising dance moves during the festive celebrations of Durga Puja.
Following the song's release, an intriguing video surfaced on Reddit, which combined "Dhindora Baje Re" with the iconic "Dola Re Dola" from the movie "Devdas". The internet quickly caught wind of this blend and couldn't help but share their diverse reactions.
One user commented, "If this were Dola Re's original choreography and cast, we wouldn't even know there was an iconic song like Dola Re on today's date. Another wrote, "Looks as if someone changed the speed to 2x."
A Reddit user also said, "KJo has been trying hard to be SLB and failing. He tried doing that with Kalank too. This Magnus Opus genre is not for KJo."
While some users praised the synchronisation, others opined that the original charm of "Dola Re Dola", performed by Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit and choreographed by the late Saroj Khan, was unparalleled.
Comparing Ranveer and Alia to the iconic Aishwarya-Madhuri duo, a Reddit user commented, "All good, but that charm is completely missing, Aish & Madhuri had something."
A few even drew comparisons between Ranveer's portrayal, representing both Madhuri and Aishwarya alone, saying, "Also Ranveer represents both Madhuri and Ash alone."
Despite varying opinions, the video sparked engaging discussions on the two dance numbers and their distinct appeal. The song also features Alia-Ranveer's on-screen families, the Randhawas, and the Chatterjees.
Initially upset, Shabana Azmi and others, who play Alia's family, eventually break into smiles, while the song concludes with an enraged Jaya Bachchan, portraying Ranveer's grandmother in the film, storming out in fury.
As fans eagerly await the release of "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" on July 28, the film's music, including "Dhindora Baje Re", "Tum Kya Mile", "Ve Kamleya", and "What Jhumka", has already made its mark on the audience. Alongside Alia and Ranveer, the film also stars Dharmendra, adding to the excitement surrounding its impending premiere.
