Not your conventional Bollywood hero: Kartik on playing ‘Freddy’

Kartik Aaryan's upcoming film, "Freddy", will see him take on a role that audiences have not seen him attempt before. 

The actor will be playing a dentist with a sinister secret, in the Shashanka Ghosh directorial film. While the teaser for "Freddy" was released earlier this month, it is only now that Aaryan has revealed details about his character in the movie. Aaryan will be starring opposite Alaya F in the film.

Freddy—the titular character—according to Kartik Aaryan, is not a hero. "The character is dark - He is not your conventional Bollywood hero," said the actor. 

"You wouldn't call him a hero in the least. My part in 'Freddy' allowed me to explore a different side of my craft and challenged me to push myself as an actor at every step," shared Aaryan. 

The story of the film follows Dr Freddy Ginwala (Kartik Aaryan), a shy, lonely, and socially awkward man, who enjoys playing with his model planes. His only friend is his pet turtle, Hardy.

"Freddy" will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on December 2.
