‘Om Shanti Om’ star Nitesh Pandey dies from heart attack
It has been a sad day for the Indian television industry, as they have lost not one, but two actors in a single day. Actor Nitesh Pandey who is famous for his role in the hit TV series, "Anupama", passed away at the age of 51, after suffering a fatal heart attack. He was also in the Bollywood superhit film, "Om Shanti Om" in a smaller role.
The actor suffered a heart attack on Tuesday, and was found dead at a hotel in Igatpuri, Nashik in Maharashtra. He was staying in the hotel as he was travelling for work. The time of death has been estimated to be around 2 am.
A police team is currently investigating the hotel staff while a postmortem report is in the process.
Pandey was a well-known figure in the television and film industries, having begun his career as a stage actor in the 1990s. He has worked in the entertainment industry for about 25 years. He appeared in shows such as "Astitva... Ek Prem Kahani", "Manzilein Apani Apani", "Saaya", "Durgesh Nandini", and most recently, "Anupamaa".
His body will be brought back to Mumbai, where his last rites will be conducted. Nitesh is survived by his wife, Arpita Pandey.
