Original pink ranger Amy Johnson making ‘Power Rangers’ comic book series
The original pink ranger, Amy Jo Johnson from the first "Power Rangers" show, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers", is all set to create her own version of the series, in collaboration with Boom Studios. According to media outlets, the actor has been busy creating her own "Power Rangers" comic book series, over the last three years.
The new "Power Rangers" comic book series has been co-written by Amy Jo Johnson and Matt Hotson.
Speaking about the comics, she shared, "I was daydreaming about it and mentioned it to my boyfriend, Matt. He said 'Why don't you try to write it as a comic book?' We had all the time on our hands, so we daydreamed up this entire comic book series knowing the 30th anniversary was coming."
The 'pink ranger' had recently raised over USD 250,000 as funds for her new comic book, with a Kickstarter campaign called "Power Rangers: A 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration".
From the first Power Ranger series, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" (1993) to the recent "Power Rangers Dino Fury" (2021), the franchise has been continuously entertaining kids.
When asked about Netflix's upcoming Power Rangers film, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always", Johnson shared that she didn't join the project as she is focusing on her work behind the camera, which includes writing and directing.
