Original Wednesday Addams actress Lisa Loring dies

Lisa Loring, who portrayed the young Wednesday Addams on "The Addams Family" sitcom between 1964 and 1966, died of a stroke on Saturday. The news was announced by her daughter, Vanessa Foumberg. Loring was 64 years old at the time of her passing.

Foumberg stated, "She passed away calmly with both of her daughters holding her hands."

A friend, Laurie Jacobson, shared the news on Facebook, writing how Loring "was always Wednesday Addams in our hearts."

Butch Patrick, who portrayed Eddie Munster on "The Munsters" (1964), also reminisced about her on Facebook, writing, "Very saddened to learn of the demise of my beloved friend Lisa Loring. We were quite close and frequently collaborated. I am aware of her weakness. I was in her presence only a few weeks ago. Best wishes, my friend."

After two seasons of "The Addams Family", Loring joined Phyllis Diller's sitcom "The Pruitts of Southampton".

She appeared on "The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.", "Fantasy Island", and "Barnaby Jones", before landing a recurring role as Cricket Montgomery on "As the World Turns" between 1980 and 1983.

Loring is survived by her daughters, Marianne and Vanessa.
