Hoichoi has released the official teaser for its upcoming supernatural thriller "Bhog", directed by Parambrata Chattopadhyay and based on a novella by Avik Sarkar. The series is slated to premiere this May on the platform.

The one-minute-29-second teaser opens with Anirban Bhattacharya's character engaged in a mysterious ritual before an antique statue. A voice warns against performing rituals without grasping their true meaning. With a piercing gaze into the camera, he whispers, "Hush… the rituals are in progress."

Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Hoichoi wrote, "A grand offering is being prepared, a supreme power is awakening! Are you joining in to offer the feast to the Mother? 'Bhog': Announcement | Series directed by @parambratachattopadhyay, adapted from the celebrated story by @avik.sarkar.1004, premieres this May only on #hoichoi."

This marks the first collaboration between director Parambrata and actor Anirban. The series also stars Rajatava Dutta in a pivotal role.

"Bhog" tells the unsettling story of a solitary bachelor whose fascination with a brass statue purchased from a curio shop soon takes a dark turn. As he falls under its ominous influence, the line between reverence and delusion begins to blur.

Parambrata's last directorial venture on Hoichoi was "Nikosh Chhaya", which premiered in October 2024 and featured Chiranjeet Chakrabarti as an occult specialist named Niren Bhaduri.

Avik Sarkar's original story "Bhog" was earlier adapted into an audiobook, and later into a feature film titled "Purba Paschim Dakshin Uttar Asbei", directed by Raajhorshee De.
