Poster unveiled for Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming VFX film ‘Oti Uttam’
Acclaimed director Srijit Mukherji is all set to launch his new film "Oti Uttam", starring Mahanayak Uttam Kumar himself.
The VFX marvel "Oti Uttam" is a romantic comedy that will feature Uttam Kumar as one of the leads alongside Anindya Sengupta and Gourab Chatterjee. With Uttam Kumar taking a large portion of the film, the director is looking to recreate Uttam Kumar's character, screen presence, and dialogue to be as real as possible.
The poster of the film recently appeared on his official Facebook face, announcing the cast via a caption to the post. His post reads: "After 4 years of painstaking research, watching and re-watching 62 films frame by frame, re-writing the script that many times, scouring dusty offices and seedy bars and narrow lanes to trace the rights holder, negotiating and collecting the necessary rights, countless sessions with VFX experts, sound designers and cinematographers, a dream is about to come true. Happy birthday. Aapni Aachen (You're here), that is indeed enough."
The film narrates the story of a PhD scholar (played by Anindya Sengupta), who is pursuing his research on Uttam Kumar. After being rejected by the girl he likes romantically, he decides to bring the spirit of the legendary actor back with the help of his grandson (played by Uttam Kumar's grandson Gourab Chatterjee).
"Oti Uttam" marks the silver screen debut of Roshni Bhattacharya. The production also casts Laboni Sarkar and Shubhashish Mukherjee in pivotal roles.
