Yesterday, Shakib Khan celebrated 24 years in showbiz with the cast and crew of "Priyotoma" in Cox's Bazar. Directed by Himel Ashraf, the film is scheduled to be released this Eid-ul-Azha. The actor shared a video last night, where he expressed his happiness about completing two decades on the silver screen.

The cast of "Priyotoma" decided to surprise the actor with a cake. In the video, Idhika Paul, was seen feeding cake to the superstar.

Shakib Khan stepped into the Bangladeshi entertainment industry on May 28, 1999 and since then the star never looked back. He started his journey 24 years ago with the film "Ononto Bhalobasa", before going on to act in over 247 films. The four-time National Film Award winning actor's last film, "Leader Amie Bangladesh" broke records, setting a new wave across the cinema halls country-wide.

In his video, Shakib Khan said, "Exactly two decades ago, on May 28, my journey on the silver screen began. My film, 'Ononto Bhalobasa', was produced by SP Productions and directed by the acclaimed Sohanur Rahman Sohan bhai. I began my journey with lots of dreams and aspiration 24 years ago."

"I had no idea what lay ahead of me in the future; my journey to stardom has not been simple. It took a lot of hard work. As time passed, I had to constantly deconstruct and recreate myself. I had to adapt to my adverse surroundings. My day begins with hard effort, devotion, honesty, and passion for work, and finishes with new hope," added the actor.

The Dhallywood superstar revealed that he has survived in the industry so long due to his fans. "I repeatedly felt like giving up, but I still stayed strong by thinking about my fans. Throughout the years, what has remained constant is their love. The faith and immense love from my viewers kept me going," concluded the actor.
