Raima Sen to play a mother in 'Hawa Bodol 2'

Reflecting on the changes over the years, she expressed her excitement to portray Tanuka again, now a mother to a 17-year-old boy named Kabir. While the previous film depicted Kabir as a child portrayed by another actor, this time, he is portrayed as a grown-up character in the 12th grade.

Jeet, Tanuka, and Raj, the popular trio from the 2013 film "Hawa Bodol," are reuniting for a second instalment of the fun-filled adventure. The original movie received widespread acclaim for its refreshing content and stellar performances by Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Rudranil Ghosh, and Raima Sen. Now, directed once again by Parambrata, the sequel introduces a new addition to the main cast, Anusha Viswanathan.

The muhurat ceremony of the upcoming rom-com recently took place in Kolkata, where the stars gathered to mark the beginning of this exciting project. Raima, who portrays the role of Tanuka, looked radiant in a green salwar suit.

Raima, unlike some actresses, doesn't hesitate to take on maternal roles and prefers to choose characters with depth. She emphasised the need to focus on showcasing talent rather than glamorising portrayals, expressing her dissatisfaction with the current trend of glamorous roles for actresses. Instead, she aims to remain authentic and deliver performances that resonate with the audience.

The filming for "Hawa Bodol 2" is set to commence soon, and the trio of Parambrata, Rudranil, and Raima will travel to London for the shoot.
