Reminiscing Humayun Faridee
Legendary actor and thespian, Humayun Faridee made his place in the hearts of the audience through his memorable performances and roles. After gaining popularity for his performance in the drama-series, "Songsoptok", the actor's career took-off.
Today marks the 11th death anniversary of the artiste. However, even in his absence, he has become immortal in the memories of his fans and co-stars.
Reminiscing his sweet memories with the artiste, renowned actor Raisul Islam Asad told The Daily Star, "I don't remember the exact date when we met, but I have known him since my Dhaka Theatre days. Back then, I was a student of Dhaka University, while he was a student of Jahangirnagar University (JU)."
"I remember visiting JU with Nasiruddin Yousuff to meet Selim Al Deen. That's where we used to see Faridee," added Raisul Islam Asad.
"Looking back, I have countless memories of the Dhaka Theatre troupe. As theatre artistes, we spent years together, staging numerous plays. We have even worked in multiple television shows together," continued the artiste. "If there's one thing that Faridee did best back then, it was acting. I won't be wrong to say that he was a truly powerful actor, whose presence dominated the stage, television dramas, and cinema halls."
Back in their Dhaka Theatre days, Raisul Islam Asad and Humayun Faridee would roam around the city on Raisul Islam's motorbike, spending their leisure time having fun. Looking back into the past, the artiste still fondly recalls the golden times he spent with Humayun Faridee.
