Hollywood stars Robert De Niro and Jenna Ortega are teaming up for a new film titled "Shutout".

Directed by David O Russell—best known for "Silver Linings Playbook" and "American Hustle"—the film features a script by Alejandro Adams, as reported by Variety. 

The story follows Jake Kejeune (played by De Niro), a veteran pool hustler holding on to a fading art. After a lifetime of wins and losses in shadowy billiard rooms, Jake crosses paths with Mia (Ortega), a gifted newcomer whose intense, untamed skill reignites a passion in him he believed was long gone.

The production is backed by Russell, Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Mark Bomback. 

De Niro was last seen in "The Alto Knights", which premiered in March, while Ortega recently appeared in "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" (2024), a horror-comedy sequel to the 1988 classic, working once again with director Tim Burton after the hit Netflix series "Wednesday".
