Runa Laila and Alamgir honoured with ‘Tele Cine Lifetime Achievement Award'

Eminent Bangladeshi stars Runa Laila and Alamgir were honoured in Kolkata's 19th Tele Cine Awards on Saturday with the Lifetime Achievement award.

The legendary couple received the award amidst the presence of numerous artistes' from both Kolkata and Bangladesh at Nazrul Mancha, Kolkata.

"Kolkata is really close to my heart as it is a city full of life and exuberance. I have done numerous films in Kolkata. I have worked with popular Indian actresses like Debashree and Indrani. Heartiest thanks to everyone and I encourage everyone to watch more and more Bengali movies," said Alamgir.

The Tele Cine Awards churned out a number of conferees from Bangladesh including Arifin Shuvoo, Singer Momotaz Begom, and Mir Sabbir, among others.

Last year, noted actor and the Member of Parliament, Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque won the Lifetime Achievement award at the Tele Cine Awards. Bangladeshi artistes SI Tutul, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Zakia Bari Mamo were also conferred with awards at the event.
