Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan found consuming ‘charas’ in cruise drug bust

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan, and seven others were arrested on Sunday for consumption of "charas", following a raid at a party held on a Goa-bound cruise liner.
India's Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) recovered drugs from a lens case of Aryan Khan. Drugs were also found hidden in between sanitary pads and medicine boxes of the others who were accused, according to reports.
The NCB claimed to have seized 13gm of cocaine, 21gm of charas, 22 pills of MDMA and 5gm of mephedrone and more than 1.3 lakh cash.
An Indian official however, said that Aryan has been booked only for consumption under Section 27 of the NDPS Act, which attracts a maximum punishment of one year or with fine, which may extend to Rs 20,000.
According to reports, Aryan's phone and WhatsApp chats revealed that he was regularly ordering and consuming drugs.
Initially, Aryan and two others — Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant — were arrested, and the trio was produced before the Esplanade Magistrate Court, amid tight security, late on Sunday and sent to the NCB's custody for one day till Monday, a prosecution lawyer told media persons.
Charged under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, they will be produced again before the court on Monday for their judicial custody, even as their legal team, including Aryan Khan's lawyer Satish Maneshinde, plan to challenge the NCB action in the Bombay High Court on Monday.
The others who remained under the NCB's detention – Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Singh Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Vikrant Chhokar, and Gomit Chopra, were subsequently arrested.
They will be produced before a magistrate's court after undergoing their medical tests for remand.
