Sharmila Tagore making a comeback

Veteran Indian actor Sharmila Tagore will make a comeback film with the Disney+ Hotstar production "Gulmohar," while Rahul V. Chittella will make his feature film directorial debut. The trailer of the film was released recently.

"Gulmohar," which is set in Delhi, chronicles the Batra family's final four days in their 34-year-old house, before they move to a new city.

Arpita Mukherjee and Chittella's experiences living and working in Nair's house in Delhi, which was later sold, served as the inspiration for the movie.

Sharmila Tagore made her film debut in Satyajit Ray's "The World of Apu" (1959), and was last seen in the film "Break Ke Baad" (2010). Chittella previously collaborated with "Monsoon Wedding" director Mira Nair and has made a couple of short films.

The film also stars Suraj Shrama, Manoj Baypayee, Amol Palekar and Simran.

"Gulmohar" is expected to release in Disney+ Hotstar on March 3.
