‘Shobar Agey Bangladesh’ concert will celebrate Victory Day with ‘renewed vigour’
On the occasion of Victory Day (December 16), a concert has been organised by "Shobar Agey Bangladesh" at Capital's Manik Mia Avenue.
The announcement was made by "Shobar Agey Bangladesh" convener and BNP Joint Secretary General, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee, at a press conference on Tuesday morning.
He said, "For the past 15–16 years, the people of Bangladesh have been unable to properly celebrate Victory Day. The oppressive actions of the fascist Awami League government have caused immense suffering. This year, we aim to unite the nation and celebrate Victory Day with renewed vigour."
"On Victory Day, we will present ourselves to the people of Bangladesh, especially the younger generation, with fresh aspirations and perspectives. The concert will take place at Manik Mia Avenue from 3 PM on 16 December," he added.
The concert will feature performances by popular bands such as Nagarbaul, Different Touch, Ark, Souls, Shironamhin, Artcell, Avoid Rafa, and Shonar Bangla Circus.
Additionally, renowned singers Syed Abdul Hadi, Khurshid Alam, Kanak Chapa, Baby Naznin, Monir Khan, Kona, Imran, Pritom, Mausumi, and Xefer will also perform.
On Tuesday, "Shobar Agey Bangladesh" was formally launched as an organisation dedicated to preserving local culture.
Annie stated, "Shobar Agey Bangladesh" is a social and cultural organisation. Our goal is to prioritise and uphold the traditions and culture of Bangladesh while uniting the youth, students, and young leaders of the nation."
He further emphasised, "We must protect and nurture our native culture. Bangladesh did not achieve independence to bow to the will of Delhi. We are committed to presenting Bangladesh's rich cultural heritage to the new generation. This is the purpose of our journey."
