Stuntman dies on the set of Vijay Sethupathi’s film
A stuntman met a fatal accident on the set of a Tamil movie, starring Vijay Sethupathi. S Suresh was 54 years old, and had a career spanning over three decades in the film industry. According to reports, the stuntman was performing for the upcoming film "Viduthalai", when the accident occurred. He was rushed to a hospital in Chennai, however the doctors declared him dead.
He was tied to a rope, which was attached by a crane. While in action, the crane was lifted to a height of 20 feet. The rope suddenly snapped resulting in his immediate fall to the ground. Upon the incident, police case was filed. Suresh is survived by his wife and two children.
Similar cases occurred in February, 2020, where three technicians died after a crane fell on them on the sets of "Indian 2". The shooting was halted for two years, after the accident.
The families of the aforementioned deceased were compensated with INR 1 crores each.
