Tollywood actress Subhashree Ganguly, who had major success in Bengali commercial films, is now all set to make her OTT debut with the series, "Indubala Bhater Hotel", directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya.

The teaser for the series was released yesterday and has already created a buzz on the internet, due to Subhashree's makeover as an old woman. Subhashree left her comfort zone and worked hard to appear convincing as Indubala—a Bangladeshi woman who moved to Kolkata with her husband, prior to partition.

The original story takes the audience on a nostalgic journey to their roots. Food plays a major role in the narrative of Indubala's journey from a young girl–who spent her childhood in Bangladesh prior to partition—through a rocky marriage, and into her new role as the owner of a small hotel named "Indubala Bhater Hotel". The unique flavour of the food served in the hotel has its origins in Khulna.

In order to portray the protagonist, Subhashree was required to undergo a drastic physical makeover. The first look of her as Indubala shocked all of her fans. She looked unrecognisable as an eighty-year-old.

Based on Kallol Lahiri's novel "Indubala Bhater Hotel", the series is expected to release on Hoichoi in March.
