‘The floor was made of tiles’: Nirab explains 'dropping' Apu Biswas
The video of celebrated actor Nirab Hossain and actress Apu Biswas, performing at the 75th anniversary of Munshiganj-Bikrampur association last Saturday, went viral on social media. As shown in the video, Nirab failed to lift Apu during the last segment of the dance performance, causing both the stars to tumble to the floor.
Speaking about the incident, Nirab shared with the media that they had danced to "Hridoyer Aina", "Jol Pore Pata Nore", and "Beainshab", alongside four more songs.
The actor mentioned that, while dancing to "Beainshab", Apu Biswas slipped from his arms. Though the two had fallen down, they quickly got back up and continued to dance. Furthermore, Nirab's second attempt to lift Apu was successful.
Mentioning the reason behind the blunder, Nirab said that the stage was an unusual one for a dance performance—it was a tiled floor and the space was very small. The actor attested that they were not used to performing on tiled floors, which caused their shoes to slip on multiple occasions—which would not have happened if the stage was carpeted.
Nirab also added that Apu Biswas's attire was made of polyester fabric, that is slippery in nature, which is why the actress slipped from his hands.
