The people’s reception made me emotional: Shakib Khan

Shakib Khan returned home from the US at 12:38 pm on Wednesday, after spending nearly nine months in the US.

"I can't explain the feeling of being back home after so long," Shakib told The Daily Star at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, adding, "I am emotional at the fact that so many people have come to see me. Their love and appreciation have brought tears to my eyes. Thousands of my fans have been waiting outside, all of whom have come from different parts of the country.  This has impressed me."

Droves of fans from Comilla, Chattogram, Sylhet, Barisal, Khulna, Rangpur and Dhaka came to the airport to catch sight of their favourite star Shakib Khan. Some of the policemen on duty at the airport said, "I have never seen so many people show up for an actor."

Shakib Khan had initially gone to the US on November 12, 2021. There, he announced the film "Rajkumar" from his production company SK Films. Now that the actor is back home, he will start working on the government granted film "Maya" from next month. Puja Chery will star opposite him in the film.
