The trauma doesn’t let me sleep at night: Arosh Khan
Television industry is embracing fresh faces as existing placeholders are dedicating their times to the silver screen or on OTT platforms.
Arosh Khan is one of those rising stars in this medium, who became a known face in just a few years into his career, having appeared in more than 80 fictions. Some of his remarkable works are—"Jotil Prem", "Love Torture", "Rakhal Balika" and "Headphone" among others.
This time, the actor made headlines, albeit due to a controversy surrounding actress Rukaiya Jahan Chamak. The debacle even lead to a police complaint.
The Arosh-Chamak duo have been featured in multiple fictions, that's how their bond as friends grew. They were even featured in the fiction "Jotil Prem", among other projects. Although in a surprising turn of events, Chamak made allegations that the actor made inappropriate demands from her.
While all the related associations including Actor's Equity and Director's Guild tried to sit and solve the matter internally, it seems that the issue won't conclude any time soon. However, the allegations laid on the actress were proved to be true, which introduced new turn in the ongoing saga.
On one hand, the Director's Guild imposed a three-months ban on Chamak, on the other, the Actor's Equity did not seem satisfied with this decision.
The Daily Star reached Arosh to get an insight from him in this regard. "It was very embarrassing for me on the first hand," he shared. "A female co-artiste making such allegations against me was extremely traumatising for me."
However, Arosh is relieved that the allegations were proven wrong. Yet, he cannot forget the matter, as it went viral on social media. "The trauma doesn't let me sleep at night," he shared.
The actor also expressed that his mother's health is unwell. After learning about this chaos, she could not tolerate it. "What breaks my heart is that my mother had to go through all these humiliations," said Arosh mournfully. "I have a sister who is the same age as Chamak. My family is suffering. This is not fair at all."
While sharing all of these, Arosh claimed that Chamak was one of his closest friends and he never wanted anything more from this friendship. "We were very good friends, she even came to my house with entire shooting unit and we had Iftar together," he added.
Arosh further informs that Chamak's complaint (General Diary) has not been withdrawn yet. "How long does it take to withdraw a complaint. I am in contact with the police station, and till now it hasn't been removed."
Regarding the decisions taken by Actor's Equity, the actor asserted that he is respectful with their decision.
Born and brought up in old Dhaka, Arosh had the fire of becoming an actor burning in him since childhood. He joined the theatre troupe Loko Natyadal in 2005. "My father admired Uttam Kumar a lot, while my mother is a great fan of Soumitra Chatterjee", mentioned Arosh, who idolises Humayun Faridee.
