Two hits with a Chery on top

Puja Chery is currently ruling over theatres with the films, ‘Shaan’ and ‘Golui’. While ‘Shaan’ sees her reunite with her ‘Poramon 2’ co-star Siam Ahmed, ‘Golui’ is her first film with superstar Shakib Khan. We caught up with Puja to know more about the response to both films, her upcoming projects, and more.

"Golui" is a romantic story, while "Shaan" is an action drama. Both the films are very different in nature from each other. There is no comparison from my side. I am happy that I was able to deliver such variety to the audience.

Two of your films are doing quite well at theatres. How do you feel regarding the audience's response to them?

There is no denying that I have been anxious. However, the love I received from my audience on the first day of Eid took away my fear and stress.

I have worked with Shakib Khan for the first time, which led to curiosity among my fans for "Golui". They already like my chemistry with Siam, so "Shaan" was a second treat for them.

Overall, this Eid has been quite memorable for me.

Which of the two films did you enjoy more?

Critics often say promoting two films simultaneously is challenging for heroines.

In that case, I don't think I have managed to become a heroine yet. If I was one, I would not have dared to take up this 'challenge'.

What else are you currently busy with?

I am playing the role of Sohana in "Masud Rana". I tried my best to present this character in a way that "Masud Rana" readers would expect. We did not use any stunt doubles while shooting. As I did my own stunts, it was quite challenging, but we took all safety precautions on the sets.

On the other hand, I have recently finished shooting for "Naakful". My films "Djinn" and "Hridita" are awaiting release.
