Vikram Gokhale’s family refutes news of his death
During the earliest hours of Thursday, rumours began to circulate that "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" actor, Vikram Gokhale had passed away. Many celebrities including Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Aly Goni and Jaaved Jaafery took to social media to share their condolences.
However, the family of Vikram Gokhale has refuted the news of his death, confirming that the actor is still alive.
Vikram Gokhale's current condition is critical, after the actor slipped into a coma on Wednesday. At present, he has been kept on a ventilator, after suffering from multiple organ failure. The doctors will observe his condition tomorrow, to determine whether he is showing any signs of improvement or is still unresponsive to the treatment.
The actor last appeared in "Nikamma", with Abhimanyu Dasani and Shilpa Shetty. He made his cinematic debut at the age of 26 in 1971's "Parwana", which also starred Amitabh Bachchan.
Over the course of a 40-year-long career, Gokhale has made appearances in a number of Marathi and Bollywood movies, including "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" (1998), which starred Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai, and "Agneepath" (1990), which starred Amitabh Bachchan.
Gokhale won the National Award for Best Actor in 2010, for his performance in the Marathi movie "Anumati".
