What to watch on OTT and TV for Independence Day
On the occasion of Bangladesh's Independence Day, here are some movies, tele-fictions, and programmes you can watch on OTT and Television channels.
BTV will broadcast "Ekti Dushopner Raat" at 9:00 pm today. Written by Nannu Chowdhury and directed by Mahbuba Ferdousi, the tele-fiction stars Abul Hayat, Chitralekha Guho, Mohamamed Bari, Matiur Rahman, in pivotal roles.
NTV will air a special drama based on the Liberation War, "Ashabali", at 9:30 pm. Written by Masum Reza and directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud, the drama stars Shahiduzzaman Selim, Safa Kabir, AK Azad Shetu in lead roles.
Maasranga TV will broadcast "Bojrokontho" at around 10 pm, the drama stars Imtiaz Barshon, Nishat Priom, and Rokeya Prachy in pivotal roles.
Celebrating the Independence Day of Bangladesh (March 26), popular OTT platform Chorki has created a new category on their website, titled "Joy of Independence" available from March 23 to March 29. It will showcase classic movies and series including "Ekattorer Jishu", "Guerrilla", "Ora 11 Jon", "Alor Michil", "Deshti Kothao Khuje Pabe Nako Tumi", "Surja Dighal Bari", and the Chorki Original web-series "Jaago Bahey".
Chashi Nazrul Islam's legendary Liberation War-based film, "Ora 11 Jon" is the first Liberation War-based film after the birth of the nation, starring Khosru Noman, Abdur Razzak, Shabana, and A.T.M. Shamsuzzaman, amongst others.
Meanwhile, "Guerrilla" (2011), directed by Nasiruddin Yousuff stars Ferdous Ahmed and Joya Ahsan in the lead roles. The film features the struggles of the common people during the Liberation War. It also claimed the National Film awards in 11 categories.
Nasiruddin Yousuff's "Ekattorer Jishu" is another amazing film portraying the historic Liberation War of the nation. The film stars Pijush Bandyopadhyay, Humayun Faridi, Shahiduzzaman Selim, and Abul Khair, among others.
