Why did Vidya Balan beg in front of a five star hotel?
Vidya Balan, known for her remarkable performances and unconventional roles, has shared an intriguing incident from her past.
In a surprising revelation, Vidya admitted to once disguising herself as a beggar outside a luxurious five-star hotel in Mumbai as part of a dare.
During a conversation with Mashable, Vidya Balan opened up about the incident, stating that she took on the challenge to win extra packs of Jim-Jam biscuits. She recounted, "We had something called the Indian Music Group (IMG), which organises classical music concerts every year. It was a three-day festival, and after the concerts, we used to go for walks to Nariman Point."
Vidya continued, "On one occasion, I was challenged to go to the coffee shop at Oberoi - The Palms and knock on the door, asking for food. They didn't know I was an actor. I kept knocking, saying, 'Please, I am hungry, I haven't eaten anything since yesterday.' Eventually, the staff started ignoring me, and my friend, feeling embarrassed, asked me to leave. But I won the bet."
Reflecting on the motivation behind the dare, Vidya shared, "The bet was for extra packets of Jim-Jam biscuits, as Britannia was the sponsor for the concert, and we had an abundance of biscuits. So, by completing this challenge, I earned an additional packet."
Vidya Balan's upcoming film, "Neeyat," directed by Anu Menon, features a star-studded cast including Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma, and more.
As Vidya gears up for her new project, her amusing tale of pretending to be a beggar adds an interesting twist to her vibrant personality.
